ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
Take
a journey to Mount Tutu Eco- Sanctuary, a special world nestled
in
New Zealand Temperate Rainforest.
The moment you
arrive, you will be embraced with a sense of well being. The
Hosts, Tim, Debbie and family, aim to give every guest that special
experience of our Kiwi Culture, living in a Wildlife Sanctuary.
Our
Sanctuary, a secluded peaceful retreat, 1,000 feet
above sea level, with clean running streams and our pure
Mount Tutu spring water that bubbles from within the Rainforest, that is
so pure, it is an elixir for good health !
Away from the city, we
enjoy crystal clear
night skies!
We
don't overtly publicise ourselves, nor use a brochure. Guests
find this magical place by chance. If you like, the same as
the mythical "Shangri-la" in the "Lost Horizon".
April/May
sees autumn colours and prolific noisy bird activity with the native
birds courting for mates.

"What
is this life if, full of care
We
have no time to stand and stare.
No
time to stand beneath the boughs
And
stare as long as sheep or cows.
No
time to see, in broad daylight
Streams
full of stars, like skies at night.
A
poor life this if, full of care,
We
have no time to stand and stare."
Wm.
Henry Davies (1871- 1940) abridged

Colin
Gibson (abridged)
“These
hills where the hawk flies lonely, rivers
running strong and clear, forests
where the tree ferns tower,
these are our care
Pastures
where the sheep graze calmly,
orchards where the apples grow,
gardens where the roses cluster,
these are our prayer..”
